HS&S Inc. incorporated under the state of California in 1979 and has been recognized as a key figure for manufacturing solutions for the last 30 years. Originally specializing in mechanical design and automation John has independently managed over 50 technicians and engineers in building and customization of several hundred specialized machines and machine tools throughout the West Coast. The result has been such distinguished achievements as being honored with multiple “Zero Defect Awards” from Lockheed Martin, among others.
Design accomplishment:
1985 to 90: Was instrumental in the invention of machinery used for the production of special wire for the process of Angioplasty. Designed and built first production wire taper grinding machine for Advanced Cardiovascular Systems.
1994- Designed and built (3) automated turning machine for mass production of small missile nose pieces. (Government funded job).
1997: Designed and built eleven (11) specialized slicing machines for the ultra-precise cutting of Ferrite components used in disk drives for IBM. Award was given for accomplishment.
1998-1999: Designed and manufactured automation kit with Heidenhain Controls to convert manual equipment to CNC. Sixty (65) Systems were sold nationally.
1995 - HS&S owner, John Servin began a complete transformation of the company into a well respected metrology sales and services organization in Northern California.
1998: HS&S is awarded the representation for MicroVu which was an excellent complement to the well known lines he was a distributor for.
1999: HS&S was approached by Brown and Sharpe , DEA and Leitz to represent them in Northern California
2001: Brown and Sharpe became Hexagon Metrology and continues with HS&S as their representation
Today HS&S is the largest full service Metrology house in Northern California and the largest privately owned one the West Coast offering measurement equipment and services that can measure from .1um to 225”
